HALO and Gould Evans Westport Art Faire Rewind!

HALO youth got a once in a lifetime opportunity during the opening weekend of the Westport Art Faire! Thanks to Gould Evans, our youth got to see their hard work and creativity displayed in a professional setting.

In honor of Gould Evans' 40th year, they decided to celebrate their anniversary by giving back. For the past two months, their employees have been volunteering at HALO art workshops and helping the kids create work to be shown at the Westport Art Faire.

They also hosted a reception for HALO's young artists to celebrate their creations. The event was a huge success and the youth had an amazing experience. Thank you, Gould Evans!

The show will be up through September, so get to Gould Evans (4041 Mill St., Kansas City, MO) to see the amazing and inspiring collaboration of Gould Evans and HALO youth.

HALO Youth Explore September's Life Skill - Integrity!

September means talking about integrity here in the HALO Learning Center, and youth have been creating art projects to show what integrity means to them. To facilitate this discussion, youth created "Integrity Comics" and "Integrity Superheroes" to show how integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching - just like superheroes!

Scroll down to read through the adventures of "Integrity Man" and see more artistic interpretations of integrity!

The HALO Learning Center is Expanding!

After four years of growth, HALO is adding a new, much needed space to their Learning Center here in KC!

The Learning Center will now have another area for courses such as Improv. Basics and Professional Development, and space for a small computer lab! Computers and printers were donated by Gould Evans of Kansas City, and are a wonderful addition to the Learning Center. The computer lab will be utilized by the Professional Development students, as well as other HALO youth for job searching, resume building, and school help.

The addition of this new space will enable the HALO Learning Center to offer more courses and workshops, and in turn reach more of Kansas City's homeless and at-risk youth.

We are very excited to share this update with you! Scroll down to see photos of our new addition, and for more information on how YOU can help HALO - KC expand, go to http://www.haloworldwide.org/kansas-city/ .
