HALO Youth Explore Creative Entrepreneurship!

Last week, HALO youth learned about being a self-starting entrepreneur while tapping into their creative genius!

Julie Arnold, of fiveandone.net, spoke with youth about how her Garden Kit started as a fun project for her family, and ended up being a fast-selling product at Anthropologie stores around the nation, selling 900 kits!

Youth also got to join in on the creation of several more Garden Kits, painting and assembling the products. Check out the fun pics below of how our youth made the process their own!

HALO Youth Explores DJ-ing Career

One HALO youth got some amazing hands on experience last week when HALO volunteer Steve Douglas of Ultimate DJ and Karaoke came to the HALO Learning Center - KC! 

This HALO youth will graduate from high school in May, and his desire is to go to college for Music Production. Mr. Douglas let him learn about and practice on his top-notch equipment, giving him an inside look into another career that could benefit from his love of music. And he had a little karaoke fun in the process. 

The HALO Learning Center - KC is especially grateful to Steve Douglas and Ultimate  DJ and Karaoke for giving our HALO youth this wonderful learning opportunity!
