HALO Holiday Party

We're celebrating the holidays here at the HALO Learning Center! Thanks to Allegro Children's Choir, HALO Volunteer Jake Miller, and Minsky's Pizza, the center was filled with plenty of holiday cheer last Thursday. The Center welcomed 35 kids who enjoyed pizza, created holiday ornaments and snapped pictures in a photo booth! HALO youth also received Christmas gift bags filled with warm weather goods donated by Allegro, and other fun gifts like nail polish and cologne donated by Jake Miller. We loved how the youth decorated our HALO tree with a star and ornaments. We wish all of you a happy holiday and a happy new year. We can't wait for 2014!

I'm Thankful for....

Healthy Bodies, Healthy Smiles!

Our HALO youth continued the November theme of Health by making "Healthy Bodies" and "Healthy Smiles", focusing on what makes us feel healthy and good dental hygiene. You'll smile yourself when you see these great photos!

Travel the world with HALO's Passport Day at UMKC!

HALO's Passport Day was a huge success thanks to our new UMKC Advocate Group! HALO youth were able to "travel" to the different countries that HALO works in - Nicaragua, Mexico, India, Uganda and Kenya - and try their hand at cultural art projects, watch some cultural dances and learn a little bit about each country!
